Extreme Heating Rate Furnace

This optical furnace allows a small sample to be heated at extreme rates (50°C/second) to high temperatures.

A set of 4 high power infrared lamps in focussing mirrors heat a thin linear sample.

Trace #1 shows the sample temperature as a function of time 2.5 seconds/horizontal division; 100°C/vertical division
